Is The LG G4 The Right Smartphone For You?

With the holidays just around the corner, the smartphone war is heating up. Samsung, Apple, HTC and variant other brands are all gearing for you to pick up one of their devices to spread joyous cheer for the ones you love. But today I’m going to tell you why the LG G4 is the Number One Choice For Smartphones.

Let’s Talk Design

overview_design_phone_brownWhen I look at the design of a smartphone, I want a phone that not only looks good but feels good, and the LG G4 feels great!

LG designers created an ergonomic, contoured device crafted with quality finishes. At first I thought the fact it wasn’t a flat phone would be less appealing. I couldn’t be more wrong.

The LG G4 feels good in your hands (big or small) and shapes to your palm when holding it.

It’s sleek design comes in chromatic finish or all leather bound backing in choices of black or brown. The LG G4 is one of the nicest looking phones I’ve ever held in my tiny hands.

One of the most brilliant displays I’ve ever seen 5.5″ of clarity and color. The LG G4 is amazing to look at, even with my difficult eyes. I can see everything. I recommend turning off auto brightness, selecting a lower tone adjustment for your eyes. In sunlight the screen is crystal clear. I had no issues seeing my messages, emails or whose been calling me. That’s something I can’t say about other smartphones I’ve used especially during the daytime.

LG G4 battery

The LG G4 has one of the best batteries I’ve ever come across on a smartphone. I can get a full day’s use plus some out of it. Easy to configure and set up, running Android Marshmallow. The battery is supercharged with 3000 mAh and the best part is that unlike other smartphones in its class — the battery is REMOVABLE! That’s a huge bonus for me. It means you can replace the battery if it wears out, dies or becomes faulty without having to buy a whole new phone.

I also love that unlike other phones the LG G4 has an expandable memory up to 2TB microSD. That’s insane if you think about it! Right now I can store my entire music library, all my Android apps, a million photos plus some with my 128GB memory card. What that means is that the LG G4 becomes power in your pocket, providing storage on the go that will always be worry free.

Here is where the LG G4 surpasses any phone on the market in my mind. It has one of the best cameras built into a smartphone. I’m not kidding you when I say this. Pixels don’t mean everything, but the G4 boasts a 16MP rear sensor and 8MP front sensor. There are 3 simple modes to shoot in. Manual, Automatic and Simple. Where the LG rises above is by adding Manual mode and allowing smartphone users to take RAW video and picture formats for editing, similar to expensive DSLR cameras.

Take a peek at some photos I took using the LG G4

Me clowning around. This is the front facing camera. The shot is the clearest picture I’ve ever taken using a phone. I cannot believe the clarity of it, making selfies and Instagram photos rock!

The LG G4 is great in low lighting, better even than my DSLR I have to be honest. It captures every moment in a way that makes it easy for the user. This shot was taken in Automatic mode. I did nothing but point and shoot.

Now your food will not only taste good but look good as well, especially for you foodie bloggers. No need to drag along with you a high resolution camera to take shots as the LG G4 has auto macro mode for capturing up close shots that are crisp and clear! This photo was taken of my son’s lunch at the Four Seasons Hotel in Vancouver during a blog event.

Check out this test video I took using the LG G4 while traveling on the Skytrain in Vancouver. The quality is crisp and sharp. The sound is great. The speakers are located on the bottom of the phone but don’t seem to hinder sound quality at all. I will be doing more videos as time goes on.

Accessories That Rock!

lg covers

Who wants a phone you can’t personalize? Not me which is why I love that LG offers brilliant covers that are interchangeable for the G4. Leather-bound these bad boys are sharp!

lg smart watch

Now this is a smartwatch. Unlike any in its class, The LG Urbane Watch is classic looking, crafted in stainless steel with a gold or silver finish. It hosts the latest technology. Slide your finger across the screen to change the watch faces. You can also swap out the straps to suit your mood. Water and Dust Resistant with IP67 dust and up to 1 meter for 30 minutes. You can wear the Urbane everywhere!

So if you are in the market to upgrade your phone. Don’t look past the LG G4 with it’s long battery life, amazing camera abilities and video taking presence, accessories that scream class with design, a display that is not only bright but colorful and memory storage to store everything you want.

Even with the Gorilla Glass3, i think i will somehow find a way to scratch it, unfortunately. I don’t like a case around my phone, I’m not used to have one, but i’ve never damaged any phone badly, just a lot of scrathes.

PS: I like the new design, it’s more clear and easier to read. Although on my monitor it looks a little bit small (that’s because I have a full HD screen) πŸ™‚

Thanks for the comments Linda, we actually changed it up again as the last site wasn’t rendering properly. Hope this one suits you better and you can read it easier, otherwise you can always zoom up. I am not a fan of cases either but I’m learning to love my otter box case for it. For those who don’t like cases gorilla has glass that goes overtop to protect your cell phone glass from scratches. It works great πŸ™‚

The battery removal part is a good one, a lot of other good smartphones don’t have that option and the operating system just crashes. It may have other uses, but in dire situation you want to have that.

I also love the brown letter on the phone, but I do fear if you use it a lot, it’s going to get scratched and ugly in time. Since I didn’t ever had a phone like that, I don’t really know that to say.

It’s a very nice phone, but probably for the moment I will stick with my 4S, but the LG is to be taken into consideration

BTW, I do have a smart watch from LG and it’s quite nice, but I wish that I have the function to add more apps on it, which I don’t have right now.

My hubby has a 4S and loves his. I have an otterbox for my LG and a scratch resistant screen it has gorilla glass3 which makes the glass great. The leather backs are nice but I prefer an actual case for my phone that can protect it.
