Last week hubby and I took Trace to the Grand Opening of the brand new Timm’s Community Centre in Langley. I was super excited to see this new facility, and so were residents from all throughout Langley and the Fraser Valley. It’s been a long four years coming.
I had a chance to talk to the Mayor about what this new Timm’s Community Centre means not just for the city of Langley but for everyone. The Mayor is part of an ongoing campaign to help residents get fit and healthy by participating in #ActiveMoments throughout their day.
We are very proud of this new facility. This new center we hope will be a hub for not just our community but other communities surrounding ours. It’s a chance for people to get fit and healthy, takes up some classes, enjoys arts and entertainment, along with the walking track open year round. For only ten dollars a year both youths and seniors and families can take part in everything the New Timm’s Centre has to offer!Mayor Ted Schaffer
The New Timm’s Centre Is Awesome!
Trace’s favourite part of the centre was of course the games room. A multi-use room with pool tables, ping pong table, air hockey, video games and more, promises to have ongoing programs for youth in the community to help keep kids off the streets, learning in a fun and interactive way.
The first thing I noticed about the Timm’s Centre was the construction of the building itself. There is so much natural light coming in from everywhere, it truly makes it a state of the art facility people can enjoy. From large windows in the beautiful gym to glass surrounding the walking track. The Timm’s center has everything you can ever need to enjoy yourself and get fit.
The New Timm’s Center is Open Now and offers a varitey of classes for everyone such as Seniorsize, Light Combo Workout, Body Sculpt, Zumba Gold, Hatha Yoga and Training Circuit to name just a few. Plus games, cooking and more. You can check out what’s going on by visiting the Timm’s 2016 Recreation Guide. Drop in classes are allowed for a $10 fee.
Timm’s Community Centre is located in the hub of Langley right next door to City Hall and across from Old Navy and No Frills. There is ample parking underground, as well as you can park at No Frills while visiting 20399 Douglas Crescent, Langley, BC V3A4B3
