It’s spring break and the kids are out of school running wild. So what can we do with them? Many families gear up their kids for spring break camps or playdates. For our family, because I’m home during spring break and I’m always looking for fun things to do so I can enjoy my time with the kids. Looking close to home you would be surprised at what you find. Here’s what’s going on for Spring Break Activities in the Fraser Valley

Spring Break at Highstreet – Week 1: March 14 – 18th Science World Show make and take activities (free) for kids ages 4 to 10 Week 2: March 22 – 28 – Play skateboarding or rock climbing. Time is 12 to 2pm. Visit Highstreet for more information.
Seven Oaks Mall Kids Club – March 15th Polymer Clay Easter Basket ages 4 to 10. March 27 Polymer Birds Nest. These activities are free of charge. Must belong to the kids club and you can register online for free now. Star Wars Lego build and other fun activities are also going on.
Bunnies & Baskets ~ March 26 at 9135 King Street in Fort Langley, Saturday at the Museum. Starts at 10am till noon and 1:30 to 3:30 pm (cost is $10 family of 4) or $2 each for larger families. Lots of crafts, games, Easter egg hunt, petting zoo and Easter bunny.
Saturday Movies at Cineplex – March 19th The Game Maker starts at 11am at select Cineplex movie theaters. Family favorites are featured each week for only $2.99. A portion of the proceeds goes towards Free The Children. A great way to spend an afternoon as a family. Spring Break at the Movies – enjoy Paddington, Minions, The Spongebob Movie, and Shaun of the Sheep for just $2.99 at Cineplex Cinemas Langley March 14 – 18th.
10th Annual Easter Egg Festival & Egg Hunt – March 27th South Langley Winery, join the festivities where kids get Easter egg hunt in the vineyard with petting zoo and live music. Parents can sample new release wines and delicious food from on site food truck. All donations go to Ronald McDonald House of BC. Need to RSVP in advance as it sells out fast. West Coast Amusements – It’s back in town and just in time for the kids to enjoy spring break! March 24th to 28th at Seven Oaks Mall in the parking lot. Tue, Wed, Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun open from 12 to 10pm, and Monday 12 to 6pm Tickets on sale at the fair. Look in the newspaper before you buy there are sometimes coupons.
Abbotsford Tulip Festival Abbotsford Tulip Festival wants you to celebrate spring. You can bring a picnic or visit the food trucks and enjoy a day with the family. Bouquets of fresh tulips will be available in the u-pick area. (cost $5) per person. When: March 25 to May 1, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Where: 36737 North Parallel Road.
Elks Easter Egg Hunt – Easter Bunny will be present for the kids in Mission with plenty of chocolate treats and entertainment. March 27, 11 am to 1:30 pm at Fraser River Heritage Park (cost is free).
Kids Fun Swim – March 14 to 24 between 2 and 4 pm. Plus loads of camps, activities, games night and more at both ARC and MRC. Click the link to see all the Spring Daze fun going on.
Meet the Easter Bunny – Highstreet will have the Easter Bunny on hand March 24 and 25th between noon and midnight. Located at 3122 Mt. Lehman Road. He will have treats for the kids compliments of Purdy Chocolatiers.
Maan Farms Easter Egg-Stravaganza – Don’t miss the fun 790 McKenzie Road, March 26 & 27th 10 am to 2 pm (cost $8 per person) parents are free. This is an awesome Hunt for the kids. Face painting, contests, family activities, hay-wagon rides, prizes, yummy treats and meet the Easter Bunny. BYOB (bring your own basket) or you can purchase one for 2 bucks each. Clearbrook Library – March 22nd the library will screen A Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days from 1:30 to 3 p.m. The library also presents Joseph the Magician from 2 to 3 p.m. on March 28. (cost is free).
Michaels Spring Break Kids Club – a new craft project every day from Mar 14 – 18. Only $2 to participate.
Enchanted Forest – on March 23rd find the leprechauns, pixies and all sorts of magical creatures in the Enchanted Forest at Aldergrove Regional Park. A big adventure outdoors!
Visit your nearest Chapters – Tons of free activites going on weekly. Plus all kinds of books are 20% off which is fantastic to keep kids learning over the break.
