Anyone who has ever lived in a small apartment will tell you that there is never enough counter space. Take my small 2-bedroom for instance. I have one long counter and two tiny ones, one on either side of my sink. That doesn’t leave me very much room when you factor in needing space for cooking, space for a coffee maker or toaster and of course, having no dishwasher means needing space for a dish drainer, too.
For the past several years, I’ve been using a very large dish rack with a pan beneath it to dry my dishes after washing them. But it’s huge. So big it takes up almost the entire counter next to my sink. I needed a space-saving solution. One that was not only affordable but something that could still house my dishes and yet be put away easily. That’s when I came across the Starfrit Collapsible Dish Drainer.
The Starfrit Collapsible Dish Drainer has no dishpan underneath it for you to wash, just a handy swivel spout that drains into your sink, making it truly unique and easy to clean.
It also holds a surprising amount of dishes than you would think based on its size. You can take it camping. Use it in your trailer or motor home. And when you finished, simple pop it down and store it beneath your kitchen sink, on the counter corner or even a peg board on the wall. The Starfrit Collapsible Dish Drainer is so versatile. Don’t believe me, check it out in action.

I love that this dish drainer can hold all my pots and pans, my wine glasses and cooking utensils. I will say though, I don’t like using it for silverware. I wish they had put on an individual cubb for flatware or an add on solution. My silverware falls into the tub and won’t stand up straight through the large holes included. But that’s not a deal breaker for me. I just use a tall Slurpee cup to hold my knives and forks, allowing them to air dry.
