Visit Rivers Restaurant Serving Abbotsford and Yarrow

Some days when I wake up after we drop Trace off at school, hubby and I like to pick a place to go and eat breakfast. I get a hankering for a good breakfast. Eggs, hashbrowns, toast, pancakes, bacon or sausage. A good omelette or hot sandwich for brunch. And my favorite places to go are mom and pop restaurants where the service is always friendly and the food is home cooked and tasty.

This past week I was really craving a great breakfast. Here in Abbotsford the options are limited to fast food or IHOP or Denny’s. But I wanted a big breakfast with great tasting food. Something that was going to fill me up but not break my wallet if you know what I mean. That’s when I suggested Rivers Restaurant to my husband. Neither of us had been there before, but we’ve driven past it so many times on the way to Highstreet. So we thought we would check it out.

Rivers Serves up All Day Breakfast for 2 Great Locations

The first thing I noticed was a big window with the words ALL DAY BREAKFAST. I love that because it usually means breakfast is cooked well if they are serving it all day for their patrons. Rivers has a variety of breakfast items available. There is really something for everyone. Eggs Benny, Big Breakfast, Farmer Sausage, Skillets and Omelettes.

So we headed inside and I thought at first glance it was super cute, not a lot of chairs though. Ha! It’s deceiving, to the side is a hidden area with booths and more booths, and today the restaurant was packed. We were immediately greeted by our server who sat us and got my hubby a coffee right away. Not five minutes later but BOOM right away. Rivers is quick to top up your coffee as well, but not pushy when it comes time to order. I also loved that it wasn’t all business with our server, she was happy and friendly asking us how our day was going.

The menu at Rivers is awesome. There was so much to choose from. Open daily from 7am to 3pm, they serve everything from liver and onions, turkey, roast beef, hot sandwiches, tuna melts, soup of the day, patty melts, wraps, beef dip, burgers and fries (yam fries) you name it they serve it. Just great food and great prices!

I had steak and eggs for breakfast. Let me tell you the best thing about Rivers is the food is fresh and tastes delicious. My steak was cooked to perfection and it was fresh beef. The potatoes were homemade and real. My eggs were done exactly how I asked, and the portion sizes left me full long until dinner. That’s always a bonus because I find most times you go to eat and an hour or two later you are hungry.

Serving Abbotsford and Yarrow

Rivers has two restaurant locations. One in Abbotsford at 31401 Livingstone Avenue, just off Peardonville Road. Stay to the right, and it’s a quick right once you turn onto Livingstone. You can’t miss it!

Second location is in Yarrow, BC at 42239 Yarrow Central Road, Chilliwack. If you are coming out from Abbotsford on Hwy 1, take exit 104 and keep to the right following the signs for No.3 road.

Great Food – Amazing Service – Worth A Visit!

Rivers Restaurant is a definite gem hidden in the Fraser Valley. It’s has a great diner atmosphere and is a family owned and operated business by two sisters who put love and respect into what they do. The food portions are incredible and did I mention the prices? My steak and eggs cost $11.50 which is fantastic as it came with toast and a choice of potatoes or pancakes. Not bad eh? My only complaint about Rivers Restaurant is that they aren’t open longer, I’d definitely take the family for dinner!

This looks like a cute local diner! I have been looking for a great place to eat in the area ever since I moved here about a month ago. If it is truly great food and great service I might as well give it a try!

Oh, you really should Mark, it’s one of those mom and pop places with homemade cooking. We love it and visit it frequently now. I also love their breakfast. I just wish they stayed open later.
