Ever since I found out my brother was getting married, I began looking for a dress. I do not like wearing dresses for no other reason other than I’m fluffy (a bit rolly polly) especially around the middle and in the arms. Being a larger size, I just feel that dresses aren’t flattering on me. Most dresses I come across for plus size women are floral, or old looking. I realized however, I just wasn’t shopping in the right place. You can find many plus size dresses, and ones to fit your body and your style.
When it comes to a wedding, black is no longer taboo. In fact black with sequins, sparkles, a hint of color is considered elegant and worthy to wear. Plus black is very slimming for fluffy girls, but colors are also brilliant and worth a peek. Like these dresses below, which are all formal, evening and cocktail in a variety of shapes.
Isn’t it pretty, the rose wrapped around the waist. I just love it!
Speaking of pinning. I have a Pinterest Boards (Plus Size and Pretty) where you can view all my favorite dresses from around the web. What surprises me most is how many of these dresses don’t cost as much as I thought they would. In fact many are below $100 USD which is a great price, and most online shops ship to Canada.
Shopping for clothes online, I’m a bit leary. It’s hard because something might look good on the rack and then not on you. So how do you know? Plus what if you get the wrong size?
Most stores and online retailers that sell plus size dresses have charts for sizing. Plus one handy tip a friend told me was to read the reviews from consumers. Most consumers will tell you if the outfit or dress fits true to form. Just make sure you buy a dress that best suits your body type. There are different body types. Like for me, as I said above I’m apple shaped.
- Apple Figure
- Hour Glass Shape
- Maxi and more…
What’s your favorite type of dress? Mine is cocktail. I’m not much for formal, and love some of the fun and sexy dresses on my Pinterest board. I’m addicted to pinning Plus Size and Pretty things.
