How To Remove Gel Nails At Home

Let’s face it, as moms sometimes we pay the price for looking beautiful.  With little time in the day for things like make-up, hair and nails. Many moms turn to having their nails done in a salon.  But there are some different opinions when it comes to getting gel nails, and the damage it can cause to your nails when trying to remove them.  So I’m going to show you how to remove those pretty gel nails from the comfort of your own home.

What you will need:

Items you will need before you get started, a good nail file, good nail polish remover with acetone, cotton balls or cotton pads, a small glass dish to soak the pads/balls and tin foil.

Buff Buff Buff

It’s important to buff your nails before attempting to remove your gel nails. Buffing the nails helps to remove the gel overlay which acts as a sealant on the nail.  So be sure to buff the nail beforehand.

Soak Nails & Cover

Next you are going to soak a pad/cotton ball with nail polish remover, wrap it around your nail and then wrap each nail with tin foil. You should time it and soak the nails for at least 10 minutes.  When finished simply peel the gel nail polish off.

Who says you can’t enjoy the beauty of amazing nails?  This tip I learned after removing my own gel nail polish which I love using because it lasts longer than regular lacquers. There is no damage to your nails, removing gel nail polish this way.

Tip: Make sure you use a good moisturizer and cuticle cream after removing the gel polish as your nails may feel dry.

Happy Polishing!

Cuticle oil is essential after you remove the gel nails, as it re hydrates your nails.

This was a great DIY for gel polish remover.

At some of my competitor nail salons they actually charge $10 for a"soak off!"
