If Homer Simpson can make a Pina Colada, then so can you. It’s one of the easiest, tastiest drink recipes you’ll ever enjoy. So what is a Pina Colada?  It’s a sweet, rum based cocktail made with creamy coconut, pineapple juice and served frothy in a glass with ice. Doesn’t that sound divine?

What you’ll need

The name Pina Colada means “strained pineapple” in reference to the pineapple juice that is used in the drink’s preparation. The drink dates back to 1948 and it’s ownership is contested.  It doesn’t matter to me — all I know is you will totally enjoy this drink on a hot summer day.

Pina Colada

A rich rum and coconut drink recipe

  • Bottle of Malibu Pina Colada Mix
  • Bottle of Appletons Jamaican Spiced Rum
  • Bag of Crushed Ice
  • Sliced Pineapple
  1. Add 2 cups of crushed ice to Blender
  2. 3 ounces of Jamaican spiced rum
  3. 1/2 bottle of Malibu mix
  4. Blend on high until either creamy or icy
Serve in wine glass or tall wine flute with a slice of pineapple
For non-alcoholic drink, simply remove the rum and just blend the Pina Colada mix with ice and serve!

You can enjoy this drink with our without Alchohl. It’s creamy, icy and the mixture of pineapple and coconut blends so yummy together. If you want to add some more zip to it, throw in a banana to the blender. It’s so delicious!

Have you ever tried a Pina Colada?

I’ve never had a pina colada but it sounds amazing! I used to drink malibu with pineapple juice, so I know I’d love this!

Thanks for the recipe, these will be flowing this summer!
