First Look Fujifilm Retro X-A3 Mirrorless Camera

by Jodi Shaw

I love Fujifilm and @Fujiguys because even if you don’t own a Fuji camera (shame on you), the Fujiguys on Twitter and Youtube provide tons of feedback for their cameras and tips on photography that can help everyone from the novice photo taker like myself to the more professional photographer looking to improve their game.

Last year I introduced you guys to Fujifilm X-A2 Mirrorless Camera. An innovative camera for use by everyone, and one I used on my blog daily.

Although the X-2 is still my most favorite camera I’ve ever reviewed, Fujifilm is always bringing out new and improved products for us to sink our teeth into.

Which is why I got so excited when I learned they were about to launch the X-A3, and I couldn’t wait to see what Fujifilm did to improve upon its predecessor.

First Look at the Fujifilm X-A3 Mirrorless Camera

Here’s a first look at the brand new Fujifilm X-A3 Mirrorless Camera, and this baby has tons of improvements along with the fact it takes some of the best photos I’ve ever taken.

As the video states above many features were improved upon with the upgrade to the X-A3, including the newly developed 24MP sensor the camera uses highlighting your subject and blurring out the background to give you more image stabilization during your shot, and control over your focus of subject.

Photo I took of my son using the auto sensor on the X-A3

The new sensor on auto plus mode for the X-A3 is incredible to help isolate the subject while everything else fades to the background. This makes taking blog photos and up-close images easy as pie!

Another example of auto focus

Above another example of using the autofocus on the X-A2. I love that the focus is on my subject (the green tin) while the table and background are blurred. It’s great for personalized images you wish to capture and showcase. ve how the cake is the focus while everything else is sort of blurred out.

This is all just playing around BTW using normal settings. I cannot even image the power I could unleash in manual mode.

No macro mode just point and shoot!

Another thing that is great about the Fuji X-A3 is there is no dedicated MACRO button. That’s right. Just point and shoot your subject. I love it! You can get as close as 7cm to your subject.

Speaking of details. The Fuji X-A3 takes professional photographs. No need to hire a photographer for your special event.

I cannot rave enough about the quality of the shots I’ve tken. Better than any cell phone I’ve ever used and worth the more than reasonable price this bad boy has to offer!

More Great Shots!

My son’s graduation

Overall the Fujifilm X-A3 is incredible! The shots I was able to create just using AUTO mode were fast, simple, and easy. None of these photos are edited btw. They are used as taken.

If you are a seasoned photographer though. The Fujifilm X-A3 allows for RAW photos, manual mode where you can adjust the ISO settings, lighting, adding many more options for you to choose from and play around with, making this a camera that is truly for everyone.

But wait there’s more!

Selfie I took using B&W Setting on the X-A3 to create deep contrast

One of the biggest selling features of the X-A3 is the ability to take true selfies like the way our cell phones do.

The X-A3 sports a flip around touch screen shifting 180 degrees so you can take selfies and videos while you’re traveling or on the go.

This is great for Vloggers like myself or anyone wanting to capture some selfie moments.

A colored selfie I took while looking sideways.

You can also connect the X-A3 wirelessly to share your photos with your friends instantly through your cell phone, which is great for today’s society of social networking.

The Fujifilm X-A3 is very retro looking (old skool) in appearance, but there isn’t anything old skool about it.  It comes in three colors. Brown. Pink & Black.

Let’s Look At The Rundown

  • NEW! battery heat protector S-series
  • Tilting 180-degree touch display
  • Different shooting modes and advanced filters such as toy, nighttime, auto plus, and many more.
  • NEW! Easy grip and slimmer profile making it simple to hold in the hands
  • NEW! USB chargeable
  • Full HD video with face detection
  • NEW! Time lapse photos
  • NEW! Panoramic photos
  • Automatic sensor cleaning
  • Interchangeable lenses
  • NEW! auto macro mode

The Fujifilm X-A3 is a camera really for everyone with a ton of really great features. You can purchase the camera anywhere that sells Fujifilm cameras such as Bestbuy and London Drugs with a price point of $749 CDN and worth the price in my own opinion.

Tip: Use a larger numbered SD card 10 and up for better quality. Lower quality SD cards don’t function properly with the sensor.

With a higher built-in sensors. The ability to shoot RAW and edit later. Macro mode built in. Different filters. Easy grip and long shooting lens. The Fujifilm X-A3 is a great mirrorless camera for any family wanting to capture those special moments in life.

What do you think of the Fujifilm X-A3? Have you ever used a mirrorless camera?
