Holiday shopping is fun, right? You spend forty minutes fighting to get a parking spot. Finally you get into the mall only to dive into line-ups as you push your way through the crowds to catch those sales. Your fingers ache from carrying all those gifts you bought and there’s nowhere to sit down except a noisy food court. Your feet are ready to fall off, and honestly you feel like dumping your gifts in the garbage bin rather than take them home to wrap them because you are so darn exhausted. The kids are whining and freaking out, complaining they want a snack, and you finally decide that holiday shopping just isn’t worth all this hassle!
What if your holiday shopping could be like this?
Hubby and I headed to Coquitlam Center, the only place in British Columbia to have the. The moment we arrived we were greeted with valet parking. I can’t even tell you how incredible it felt to have someone park our car while we entered the mall. We didn’t have to worry about finding a space. I had heard of the Avion program through RBC before during the holidays, but have never experienced the true magic of it until now. Boy, am I glad I did.
The moment we entered the Avion Holiday Boutique I immediately felt like I stepped into a Christmas workshop where Santa’s elves were busy making everyone happy. It’s like a cross between a high-end cafe and family play center. Strings of lights cascaded from the ceiling, glittering with snow and silver. Christmas trees and decorations slighted every corner around gorgeous white chairs and loveseats, where families gathered talking and laughing.
Trace, my 8 year old of course immediately noticed the bar where other people’s children had perched waiting for a cup of hot cocoa. He was so excited to get his own glass he could add marshmallows too. He also received a sugar cookie and sat compliant for the first time all day. I actually got a moment to myself as I headed on over to get our gifts wrapped, a free courtesy for Avion members. Non members pay a special donation which goes to charity. I love that!
After I checked my coat, I headed over to the lush and comfortable VIP lounge, where families sat enjoying conversation and complimentary WIFI. I checked in at Foursquare, sent out a tweet or two and chatted with a family about what they love about RBC Avion Holiday Boutique and why they come here.
Convenience is the number one reason. We can sit and relax, enjoy ourselves. I personally love wrapping my own gifts, but coming here gives us a break from shopping. The kids gets treats and we were even treated to a complimentary photo with santa!
Those are some pretty great reasons for anyone to become an Avioner. That’s also the best part. You can sign up right then and there to join and enjoy everything the program has to offer. I wish they had this in Abbotsford. I know I would enjoy it tremendously during the holidays.
One of the greatest things I enjoyed about being an Avioner for the day was how easy everything was. Everyone was so relaxed, helpful and kind. It was like a little oasis away from the loud noise going on outside. You get to enjoy some peace, while listening to some holiday music on a piano live. It was so fantastic!
