Back To School Lice Test & Two Must-Haves

From oral health to lice prevention, school is back in session and it’s important to take preventative measures to make sure our kids health is equally prepared for the 2017 school year ahead. Are you test ready? Think you know all the answers? Let’s find out shall we?

Did You Guess Correctly? Let’s Find Out.

Question #1. How long Should You Brush Your Teeth For?  Most dentists will tell you they prefer their patients to brush for 3 minutes. One and half minutes on their upper teeth and bottom teeth to equate maximum coverage and get all that gunky stuff out.

My son is starting middle school, so we put a Carry Clean Kids Dental Travel Pack from Colgate Canada in his backpack. It’s low cost and great for Kids to keep in their lockers so not only will their teeth be clean after lunch, but that tuna sandwich won’t linger on their breath making things (embarrassing) which no kid wants to deal with.

You can purchase the Carry Clean Kids Dental Pack at a variety of stores such as Walmart, London Drugs, Superstore and Shopper’s Drug Mart.

Question #2. How long Can Lice Live on Your Scalp?  If you answered 30 days you would be correct. Adult lice can live on a human host for up to 30 days. That’s why Lice Shield is our go-to for the prevention of the lice, stopping the itch before it starts.

Lice Shield DOES NOT treat an infestation but helps deter one. School outbreaks of lice are icky but a fact of life. I hate bugs, and I mean hate them, so the idea of them crawling around my scalp. Well, let’s just say it wigs mommy out!

My son uses Lice Shield Shampoo and Condition which has a great smell and helps to clean his hair thoroughly. We also use the detangler afterwards, adding extra protection for when he’s wearing his baseball caps or hanging out with friends.

Lip Smacker is a great way for adults and kids to prevent chapped, dry lips in a fun way! For boys, they have the Marvel Superhero Spider-Man Keychain Lip Balm only $4.95 and a great easy to carry lip moisturizer to help keeps boys lips moist (non-kissable) hey my son is only in middle school, but not bleeding.

And for girl’s, I love love the Pink Lemonade Glam Bag $9.95, which gives extra protection and some fun with nail polish, lip gloss, lip balm and face and body glitz in one pack.

Lip Smacker products can be found at Walmart, Superstore, and Rexall Drugs.

I partnered with the above brands to bring you this information. All opinions are 100% my own.

I failed all three as well so don’t be hard on yourself, and I feel the same. I spray the conditioner on my son daily hoping to repel against them this year.
