Our Trip To Whistler In The Buick Enclave #driveyourairmiles

A family adventure is always important, spending quality time together, being with one another, seeing new places and sharing in new experiences. It’s the long weekend and my family and I had the opportunity to getaway for #DRIVEYOURAIRMILES contest, and we got to drive a Buick Enclave and go to Whistler.  Buick and AIR MILES have partnered where you can win 3000 AIR MILES reward miles. For more information read my contest post here for your chance to win!

First Stop Getting the Buick Enclave

ENCLAVE

We headed out to Burnaby, BC to pick up the brand new 2013 Buick Enclave. I could barely contain my excitement. I saw the vehicle and it had the (hashtag) #DRIVEYOURAIRMILES for the contest as a decal on the side of the car which I thought was pretty cool. First glance at the Enclave and I can see why it is a popular cross-over vehicle for consumers.

Hitting the Open Road

After picking up the Enclave, we hit the open road. Heading up the Sea to Sky Highway on the way to Whistler. It was a gorgeous drive and I love how the Enclave handled on the road. There are so many features about this vehicle, I have no idea where to begin. My favorite features are: The main dash console where everything is at your finger-tips, you can listen to  XFM radio, put in a DVD movie for the kids where they can watch a movie with wireless headphones, and the security features rock! Someone in your blind spot, there are indicator lights on the side mirrors informing you.

Lion’s Bay

We stopped in Lion’s Bay for a potty break. A beautiful little town on the Sea to Sky and we met a resident (Tom) who noticed the hashtag on the car. He just started tweeting, so we told him all about the contest and how you can win 3000 AIR MILES reward miles. He was also curious about the Enclave. So of course we showed him the vehicle. By the time we were done talking, he had us convinced we should move to Lion’s Bay. Mmmmm – food for thought.

On to Whistler Village

whistler village

We made it to Whistler! It is so beautiful in Whistler. I love that when we first arrived it was like such a small quaint little place, people out walking everywhere, riding bikes, eating at restaurants, out with their kids and animals. We saw the 2010 Olympic Games Symbol carved in stone at the entrance and the boys were very excited, as we drove on and searched for our hotel.

Our Room at The Hilton Whistler Resort and Spa

We reached our hotel and we were super excited to find it. It is gorgeous. Our room was fantastic! Beautiful King size bed, double pull out sofa, large television, full kitchen with everything we needed to cook. The boys were excited there was a pool, sauna and whirlpool.  They loved the room. After unpacking, we ventured out to grab a bite to eat. We were starving!

Dinner at Creekside Plaza Boston Pizza!

We stopped at the Creekside Boston Pizza for supper, about 15 minute drive from Whistler Village. We were all famished and we ordered a large family pizza which was delicious. We also ordered a pasta and some fries since I knew the boys would be hungry later and the hotel room had a microwave. It was a great family dinner and we even got some AIR MILES reward miles for eating there, which was a big bonus!

Morning Check out!

We checked out the next morning. I had the best sleep ever. You can read my review on the Hilton at fraservalleybeat.com. It’s a great place to visit and stay if you are heading up to Whistler. The staff is incredibly friendly! I love the bell services, they parked our car for us, and they helped with our luggage. The conceirge clerk offered many ideas for things to do if we planned on staying longer. There is a restaurant in the hotel, and as you wander through you head up to the back-end of the hotel and it takes you up to the center of the village where the night life stays alive until 2am.  Want more AIR MILES reward miles, well the Hilton Whistler Resort and Spa is the place to stay!

Shannon Falls

FD loved driving the Enclave Home. The road to home was nice and smooth. No bumps or problems. Gas mileage on the Enclave was great also. Check on FD’s review on the Enclave and everything it has to offer. You won’t be disappointed!  On the way home we decided to stop at Shannon Falls.

It took us twenty minutes to find parking. I didn’t realize how busy it is and this is daily. Everyone comes to Shannon Falls to picnic, have family gatherings, hike and take in the wonder of nature around them. We were definitely impressed with everything we saw.

Shannon Falls was a highlight on our trip home and I’m so glad we stopped. If you visit make sure you bring your camera, you won’t want to miss the pictures you can snap.

All in all we had the best trip ever! I’m so lucky and wish to thank Buick for allowing us to test drive the Enclave and AIR MILES for allowing us to enjoy this weekend getaway to Whistler. The Enclave is a sweet vehicle, fully loaded and has so many features that are just prime and suitable for families today, and AIR MILES has amazing partners you would never think of, like Safeway, Shell, Boston Pizza, Hotels and Motels and various other shops you can visit, buy, and earn.

Don’t forget to enter the contest for your chance to win some AIR MILES!
