August Must Watch Shows on Netflix #StreamTeam

I know August is almost over and back to school is just around the corner but that doesn’t mean you can’t still enjoy all the great entertainment Netflix has to offer for the last month of summer. Here’s a quick rundown on what we have watched on Netflix, or are watching on the streaming giant.

Hook: Starring the late Robin Williams, one of my favorite comedic actors as a grown up Peter Pan who’s forgotten how to fly, how to fight and how to cry as he must save his kids that have been kidnapped by his arch nemesis, Captain James Hook.

Thoughts: Great family movie. One the kids and you will really enjoy. Well worth it to see Robin Williams in tights – LOL. Also, has a great cast with Julia Roberts and Dustin Hoffman. Hook is fun, entertaining and adventurous!

Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments Season 2: Clary Fray finds out she’s different. She’s part Shadowhunter, a race of human-demon hunters with the blood of angels, and has grown up in a world where demons, mythical creatures and evil is lurking around every corner.

Thoughts: I loved the original movie and this Netflix Original series is just as awesome. Amazing special effects and storytelling on a fantastical level that will keep you interested and entertained as you fall in love with Clary and Jase and their journey together.

Insidious Chapter 3: Psychic Elise Rainer reluctantly agrees to help a young teen contact her deceased mother, she unwittingly unleashes a demon upon the girl.

Thoughts: I love this series. The first two were scary, and this one is equal to the part. If you love ghostly/thrillers and paranormal activity, this is a must watch for you!

The Defenders Season 1: Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Nick Gage and Ironfist investigate criminals and fight injustice, unaware their paths are about to cross to pit them against a mutual enemy.

Thoughts: I’ve watched two of the four individual Netflix Original series and love them, so it was only a matter of time before I jumped on the Marvel bandwagon to watch these superheroes fight together. The show is awesome with great storytelling that keeps you coming back for more.

Death Note: Teenager Light Turner finds a supernatural notebook and uses it to his advantage, attracting a demon, a detective and a girl he likes in his class.

Thoughts: A wicked Netflix Original movie based off a comic book that will have you gripping the seat of your chair. Death Note has a great storyline. What would you do if you could punish those you knew needed to be punished without getting caught? It’s a question that begs understands and begs you to watch as you decide.

What Else Can You Watch In August

There are so many movies and original series to catch up on. Next on my list is another list and it’s Black. I’ve never seen the Blacklist and I love I can start at season one and catch up.

Also, I’m interested in watching two profound films which I will share with you my after-thoughts on. One is Jackie O: The story revolving around one of the most infamous first lady’s of the United States presidency.

The second is Lee Daniels – The Butler, which won so many awards I can’t even count how many starring one of my favorite actors Forrest Whittaker.
