7 Tips On How You Can Have Glowing Summer Skin

Having glowing summertime skin isn’t about what you put on your face. Some people have a natural glow to their skin. Some have to do a whole lot more to get there. Busy schedules. Stress.

Taking care of things at work and home. How can you find the time to give your skin what it needs to get that summertime glow? We know you want to look your best. So here are 7 tips on how you can have glowing summertime skin.

#1. Don’t Stress

Stress is one of the worst things for your body, mind, spirit, and yes even your skin. When you stress, it can lead to breakouts and blemishes such as acne, hives, eczema, and various other pigmented skin problems.

Now we all know we can’t remove all the stress from our lives, but we can find ways to de-stress when things get to be too much. Find ways to help you remove the stress you deal with such as taking up yoga or meditation, listening to soft music when you get home from work, or sit and enjoy a glass of wine after dinner.

Not only will these things help to improve your skin and give you that glowing summertime skin, but it will help improve your lifestyle as well.

#2. Hydrate Yourself

Drinking things like fruit juices, coconut water, and green tea, along with plain filtered water can decrease the heat and keep the body cool. Green tea is one of my favorite things to drink because it’s high in antioxidants which helps eliminate dead skin cells. It’s also important to make sure you moisturize daily.

One of my favorite moisturizers to use straight out of the shower is AVEENO® POSITIVELY RADIANT® Daily Moisturizer with SPF 15. It helps keep my skin looking fresh and clean, and provides that extra nourishment my skin needs to keep it from drying out, especially when in the harsh elements such as the sun.

#3. Eat Right For Glowing Summer Skin *

Since water and how much we drink is important to our bodies, so is the food we consume on a daily basis. Eating a well-balanced diet is important for not only our bodies but our skin as well. What you eat can go straight to your face.

Ever eat a candy bar and break out? Or have a few too many carbs and your face suddenly gets a bit puffy. Foods such as Greek Yogurt, fresh fruits, and vegetables that are calcium-rich can truly help your skin look more youthful. So be aware of what you eat.

#4. Getting The Right Amount of Sleep

One of the most important things you can do to achieve glowing summertime skin is to make sure you get enough rest/and or sleep. Your face is a gateway to how you are feeling.

Has anyone ever told you that you look tired because of a lack of sleep? Getting enough rest is an important part of our day to day routine. When we sleep that is the time our bodies heal and our skin repairs itself. Not enough sleep can cause dark circles under the eye, and the elasticity in our skin to stretch.

A good 8 to 9 hours is what our body requires, though some people need less. Getting a night of good sleep, one not frequently interrupted reduces stress, anxiety and even depression. All of which play havoc with our appearance.

#5. Being Active

Nobody says you have to go to a gym in order to be active to achieve that glowing summertime skin you want. Being active can mean simply going for a walk for 10 minutes a day.

Doing anything to increase your blood flow is great for your skin and will improve your appearance. Don’t forget to wash your face properly after any type of work out, and to cleanse your skin after you exercise.

Sweat can cause your pores to clog and irritate your skin. Look for facial cleansers that are all natural with hydrating boosters to add in the nutrients your skin needs after sweating it out so you can look great.

#6. Use Sunscreen

Now just because you want glowing summertime skin doesn’t mean using the sun to get it. In fact, the sun is bad for your skin. It can dry your skin out, cause massive skin irritations and even permanent damage. Protecting your skin with sunscreen is important.

Always apply sunscreen whenever you go out in the sun to protect your face and body from getting burned.

Stay indoors between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m as that is when the sun is at its hottest, and remember the UV rays can not only damage your skin but cause skin cancer. That along with heat stroke can spell disaster!

#7. Go All Natural

You want to look and feel your best and have glowing summertime skin, then think about going all natural. Choose and use makeup with only all natural ingredients and no harsh chemicals.

Think about creating a natural beauty routine at home such as: washing your face with rosewater or coconut oil daily. Create a facial pack such as cucumber, papaya, and lemon juice, adding 2 tablespoons to a blender and then put on your face for 20 minutes, and then rinse off.

Another option is to steam at least once a week by sitting in a steam shower. This helps you in opening the clogged skin pores as well as in removing the dirt from your skin.
