5 Things You Need To Help You Tackle Spring Cleaning

Spring Cleaning is so much fun, said no mom ever! Spring Cleaning means going through everything, tossing things out, feeling frustrated because of all the junk you have, and never knowing where to start or how to finish. Right? Well, what if I told you it doesn’t have to be that hard. There are 5 Things You Need to Help You Tackle Spring Cleaning. Once you have those five things, you are well on your way to a wonderful spring with a clean home!

Now On To What You Need To Get Started Cleaning!

Disinfecting Wipes: I will be honest, I use these for absolutely everything. Clorox Disinfecting Wipes have no bleach which I absolutely love, and my kids can use them around the house on doorknobs, handles, the toilet seat even (don’t get me started on how icky that is) they are perfect to clean all surfaces, even mirrors, hardwood, plastic, glass, stainless steel, ceramic and LCD monitors.

Trash Bags: You can’t clean without taking out the trash. I only use Glad Trash Bags With Odor Protection, my favorite are the ones that come with Febreeze. I always grab the kitchen bags, heavy duty black garbage bags and even composting bags which okay don’t laugh I use in the bathroom because they fit my small trash bin perfectly and smell so amazing!

Liquid Plumber: Spring Cleaning can’t be done if you don’t tackle the drains in your house. We get drain flies and fruit flies that love our pipes. I hate having them in my kitchen. Add that to the boys cutting their hair, shaving, nail clipping and lord knows what else ends up down my drain. I need to clean them out. So I use Liquid Plumber Hair Clog Eliminator to get rid and dissolve anything in my drain that either living or dead. Problem solved.

Multi-Surface Cleaner: This is one I always have on hand because I use it daily along with my disinfecting wipes. A good multi-surface or multi-purpose cleaner goes a long way to tackling your cleaning job so the entire house smells incredible. Clorox has a new one called Clean Up which is perfect for both indoors and outdoors. So now I don’t need two cleaners to clean my patio furniture and wipe down our chairs on our balcony, killing up to 99% of germs and bacteria.

Spark Joy: An illustrated Master Class on the Art of Tidying up by Marie Kondo. A book? Seriously Jodi? Yes, a book. I’m telling you Spark Joy is changing not only how I clean but how I am not-decluttering but deciding what to keep to in my house that brings me joy. You will be amazed at how we’ve been cleaning and tidying wrong all these years. But don’t take my word for it. Grab the book and give it a read.

Before you start, you need to look the part. Don’t you love my 1930’s wire headwrap so I look like I’m ready to tackle the cleaning in my house? Pretty cool eh. Okay so once you look the part you’re ready to start.

Of course, there are other things you need to clean. A mop. Cleaning Caddy. Broom. Microfiber Cloths. Rubber Gloves + A Positive attitude. But the top 5 things above will get you started and make your home smell nice and fresh, plus it will look and feel good just being in it.

What do you do to motivate yourself to jump into spring cleaning?
