With the holidays on the rise, Halloween and Thanksgiving and then the big one Christmas, I’ve been thinking as I walk around my neighborhood scattered in leaves and pinecones, what kind of arts and crafts can I make with the kid to celebrate the seasons changing? So here are 5 arts and crafts using pinecones.
Felt & Pinecone Owl Ornaments by Lia Griffith
I love this craft because these guys are so adorable. You don’t just have to make them for the seasons or the holidays either. I love owls and would have these guys resting on my side table all year round. Lia makes this diy tutorial super easy. Check it out for yourself and you too can have little owl Pinecones scattered around your home.
Zinnia Flowers from Pine Cones! by Fanciful Twist
These have to be one of my favorite DIY crafts using pinecones. The flowers can be painted any color to match the decor in your home and I’m definitely going to be making a bowl of these. What I love about this craft from Fanciful Twist is how easy it is, but that you can also make flowers representing the colors of the season. Orange/Green for fall, Christmas reds to look like a bouquet of poinsettias or even beachy colors like in my home turquoise and sand wth glass green. Add in a few seashells and you have a dish of delight to talk about when company comes over.
Monster Pinecone Wreath by Craftaholics Anonymous
This one is great for Halloween which is coming up. I would love this hanging on my door, plus you can put it away in a garbage bag to use year after year. Super cute design, easy to make and not that many supplies are needed to make this (friendly) monster stand out from the crowd.
Felt & Pinecone Elves by Lia Griffith
Another great tutorial from Lia showcasing these adorable little pinecone elves you can make either as stand-alone decorations or as ornaments on your festive holiday tree. It doesn’t take much work and is easier than it seems.
Pinecone DIY Seating Card Holders by Project Wedding
This last craft idea is so cute I wish I’d thought of it during Christmas or Thanksgiving or any rustic get together where family comes to celebrate. You can paint the pinecones, dust them in gold and silver, dip them or decorate them how you want, then simply create your cards and that’s it. Your seating card holders are done!
We hope you enjoyed our craft round-up. What kinds of crafts have you made using pinecones?
