Summer road trips are underway but before you go marking off your road trip checklist, it’s important to have a clean car. I recently got a new car along with my driver’s license, and I’m the one who drives the most now. I use my car to shuttle my son to playdates with his friends or to his youth group after school, to doctor’s appointments for hubby and of course, there’s grocery shopping and gassing up to be done each week. I promised myself I would keep my car looking clean. Yeah, well that hasn’t happened. To be honest, I don’t really know how to clean a car properly since I’ve never had one, and believe me it’s messy.
I’m Queen of the crazy train and I’m okay with that. I’m over 20 and under 50. I like to have things in a particular way. I hate dishes piled up on the counter. Can’t stand drinking the last bit of a drink, and always need a new glass when getting another. I have to sleep on my left shoulder (always) and often sleep with my head at the foot of the bed. Don’t know why.
I’ve been a hostile passenger of the crazy train for the past 20 years. That’s how long ago a doctor finally diagnosed me with Bipolar Disorder. Or what I like to call Straight Jacket Syndrome. And for those of you who think bipolar disorder is not a mental illness — you’d be wrong. I’m not someone who just suffers from depression on an occasional basis. Being Queen of the crazy train has its ups and downs, and it’s been a very long ride.

Summer camp is something I remember as part of my childhood memories as being one of the best times of my life. Now it is time for me to ship my son off for a week, and my nerves are always on overload. Organizing what he needs to bring is essential. I hate forgetting to pack things for him, especially when he has special needs. Forgetting things like his favorite pillow and toothbrush, okay not great but we can get by. Sunscreen is a must as is NO electronics. So this year I discovered 5 must have things kids need to pack for summer camp so they can enjoy themselves and make memories of their own.
