Well Halloween has come and gone and this year at the Shaw house we had a blast with all the festivities, despite some of us battling this nasty cold going around.
Both FD and I decided to throw a surprise 40th anniversary for my parents Halloween style and boy-oh-boy were they surprised! Everyone came. We had great food, good conversation and the best part — everyone dressed up and had a blast! My parents far left were totally surprised! The treats Tas made are left
The day before the party, Trace helped me in the kitchen make some treats for the kids Halloween festivities at the hall in our co-op. We had fun and I was super proud of him because he decorated the treats himself. Thanks to our friends at Kelloggs, we had an opportunity to use both a pumpkin and bat treat mold. It made creating Halloween goodies super easy.
Making Rice Crispy Squares Is Easy
- Melt Butter and Marshmallows in a sauce pan over low heat
- Add in some vanilla
- Mix in rice crispies and spread onto a pan
- Allow to cool
- Use cookie cutters or roll into balls
- Decorate and eat!
Halloween night wasn’t much fun as it poured rain here in Abbey, but the boys still had a good time. JJ stayed home for the first time ever (no trick-or-treating for him because he is a teen now. Tas went out with Jenny Benny and then headed off to church for some games and good times with the other kids.
All in all it was a great holiday! We hope you all had a safe and happy Halloween.
