V-Tech Kidizoom Action Cam 180 Review Kids Photography

written by Jodi Shaw August 30, 2017

My son loves taking photographs of things we do, places we go, and of course videos of himself and his friends. However, I’m not going to buy him an expensive camera because he’s eleven and I haven’t found anything on the market geared for kids his age. That is until I found the V-Tech Action Cam 180. Now my son can enjoy taking end of the summer photos and videos with a camera geared just for him!

The V-Tech Kidizoom Action Cam 180 is like a go-pro camera for kids. Super awesome it has nifty features kids will love. They can take photographs of themselves and others with the built in selfie lense. Videos of their latest skateboarding trick of the trail they ride on with their bike with the attachable camera holders, and so much more.

Let’s take a look…

Video: is easy for kids to manipulate. One push button and they are taking a video. Videos come with some pretty cool frames kids can use while they become the producers of their own show.

Photos: Equally as easy, just point and shoot the camera and kids can take photos of anything they want. It a small zoom lens to get up close shots, along with built in borders that are fun for kids to add to their photos while editing.

Selfie 180 Flip: The V-Tech Action Cam has a 180 degree lens so kids can flip it forward or backward depending on what type of photo they want to take. Meaning they can — yes take a “Selfie” which is rave today amongst young kids.

Waterproof: Imagine your kids swimming at the pool, going to the waterslides or enjoying a day at the beach. With the V-Tech Action Cam 180 they no longer need to worry about getting their camera wet. It comes with a waterproof case that is perfect for both selfie portraits, videos under water or photos while getting wild and wet.

Demo Video

Here is a video Tas took of our neighbor riding a friend’s scooter for fun in our construction zone at our apartment. I love listening to my son giggle as he creates his videos. He has such a blast using his camera. I love it when the adults get a hold of it and film the ground LOL.

The pictures come out pretty good with some editing. Tas took a couple of photos of his trip to Adventure Park, plus one of our kitty Oreo, and he did a press conference here in town for the Abbotsford Air Show and took some photos including some selfies with his camera, and I helped to edit them.

The V-Tech Kidizoom Action Cam 180 like I said is packed full of features, including some on board games for kids to play. It’s geared for kids ages 4+ and can be purchased at Toys R Us, Walmart, Target and various other retailers where V-Tech toys are sold.

Key Features:

  • Camera records 240 minutes of 640 x 480 video or 278,400 photos with a 32GB microSD card (sold separately)
  • 180 degree swivel camera
  • Use included accessories to mount the camera to your bike, skateboard and more
  • Includes water-resistant case for use up to six feet underwater
  • Includes two regular games and one augmented reality game
  • Built-in rechargeable Li-ion Polymer battery
  • Expandable memory (To store all your adventures, a microSD card is required. Sold separately.)

I would suggest going out and buying an microSD card if you want your kids to really get the benefits out of this fun interactive camera. The built in memory holds quite a few pics but after a few you have to delete them if you want to use the camera again–and that’s no fun!

I would like to thank V-Tech for allowing us to review The Action Cam 180. V-Tech has so many interactive, learn and play toys for kids of all ages to enjoy. Visit their website at http://www.vtechkids.ca

It is cool for kids and tell me about it. My son is always asking for my phone and our phones are expensive. This way he has his own to make his own videos.
