I am super excited to announce that I was selected as one of Canada’s top online inflencers to participate in the Hidden Valley Ranch Ranchify Recipe Challenge. Me? A recipe cook? Okay wait — hold the laughter. I know what you are thinking. UH Jodi hates cooking!
It’s true that nearly every place I’ve lived there has been a fire hydrant outside. It’s also true that my for years my husband’s favorite term in our home was “Charcoal is good for the soul”, and it’s true that many friends and family joke about getting food poising or call me smokey the bear if I offer to cook a meal for them.
What’s not true is that I hate to cook! In fact in the past year I’ve found a sudden love for cooking and enjoy sharing recipes and foods I find interesting online, both here at our blog and on Pinterest. Oh don’t get me started at the food on Pinterest – YUM YUM! So coming up with a recipe I could use Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing in wasn’t hard to create.
- In a large bowl combine and mix all the ingredients (leave some shredded cheese for top layer) together.
- Place the mixed ingredients into a baking dish.
- Add the remainder of the shredded cheese on top
- Bake at 325 degrees for 45 minutes
- vegetables of your choice
- 2 tins of cream of (whatever soup) you want, I used cream of broccoli or asparagus.
- diced or cut up carrots.
- 1/2 bottle of hidden valley ranch dressing
- Add 2 tins of soup to the crock pot using half can of milk for each can to make it creamy or half a can of water for less creamy base.
- Add 1/2 bottle of hidden valley ranch dressing
- Mix the soup and dressing in the crock pot
- Add salt and pepper
- Add in your boneless pork chops make sure all the pork chops are covered in the soup/ranch base
- add your vegetables
- Make your rice or potatoes separate or you can add them to the crock pot
- Cook on high the first hour
- Cook on medium hours after that
- The pork chops should be falling apart when ready
The boys loved the tangy zip of ranch and soup base added to the pork chops. They used it as a gravy mix on top of their rice. The pork chops melted in our mouths, and the vegetables were not mushy as you might expect cooking for so long. That’s why I love a crock pot! The ranch dressing was creamy and melted like butter with pork. It was utterly delicious!
You can use Hidden Valley Ranch to Ranchify any of your recipes. The flavor is milk, tangy and easy to incorporate into any dish. You can mix it into your mash potatoes, add to some veggies and coat them before placing them on the BBQ, or use it as a creamy base for your potatoe salad or macaroni salad.
