During the holiday season before the kids are even out of school, I notice how ancy my son gets. His mind focused on Santa coming, I’m always on the look out for places to visit and things for him to do. So this past weekend we took the entire family to the North Pole BC’s Festival of Christmas located at the Tradex in Abbotsford.
The moment we stepped into the Tradex my son’s eyes rounded with amazement. Elaborate displays were set up everywhere for him to go to and explore. The attention to detail is incredible with the displays. Trace had no idea where to look first. Our first stop was at the Post Office of course where we placed our location on the map and my fifteen year old wrote a letter to Santa. Jake is in a wheelchair after getting clocked in a football game but still had no problem getting himself into the holiday season.
We moved through the North Pole station by station. Santa came by and said hello, along with the snow princess. She is so pretty. Each station had something for the kids to do, whether it was a scavenger hunt to making cookies. All of us jumped right in to get our hands dirty with fun!
After making our cookies we headed along our way to stop and listen to some carols. We even joined in at the Ye Olde Bandstand. Trace created his own his gift wrapping, Corey got his photo taken with a bear and in a sled with me and Jake and Krista strolled along until they hit Santa’s Toy shop before we headed over for our photo with Santa.
