How to schedule posts on your facebook business page

One thing I find difficult with blogging is the time it takes to interact socially and share and get the information I post here out to my readers and fans who I hope find it valuable.  So you can imagine my excitement when I discovered Facebook has implemented the option to schedule posts on your faceobook business page.scheduletimeline

Scheduling posts makes sharing content with your facebook followers and friends super simple. The first thing you have to do is to remember to schedule the time before you post.  This is important otherwise you can’t set the time you want for the post to be shared.

The second step is simply adding in when you want your post to go out.  A good time I’m told is after 6pm.  That’s when most people get home after work and jump on to see what everyone has been up to for the day.  But you can schedule your posts for whatever date or time you want.  The options allows you to set the : YEAR, MONTH, DATE, HOUR, MINUTES so you control when your fans see you want them to.

This is a great tool for facebook businesses or blogs. It will cut down on having to use 3rd party apps like Hootsuite to schedule your posts. Sharing becomes easier and hopefully your engagement will improve. I know it cut down my sharing by two hours last night and I was able to set up my posts for the week, which was great!  Giving me more time for family and friends.

Have you tried to schedule a post on facebook yet?

  1. yey! I've ALWAYS wanted to schedule my posts and wishes there was a way. I even thought I was clever for thinking of doing that and thought it was a "clever" idea. I'm glad it's already in place… I just never knew! Thanks for sharing 🙂

  2. Nice feature, But why it is not showing for me? For me it is only showing three option in the location as you said. The options are 1) add friends 2) add location and 3) add photo- a camera icon.

But there is no time option, has is implemented?

  3. This is such a great idea! I had no idea you could do this until seeing your post;) I don't really like Hootsuite or any other options like it. I read somewhere online a few months ago that using those sites to schedule tweets and posts can actually have a negative impact on the amount of people that actually see those posts via Social networks. Apparently a lot of them go unseen completely:( I'm definitely gonna try this Facebook post scheduled post thing out and see how it goes. Thanks for sharing 😉

  4. Have you been able to figure out a way to have a photo show in the preview if you schedule the post in advance and the link hasn't gone live yet? I usually schedule all my posts in the evening to go live the next day, but because I've scheduled the FB post before the link is live it only shows the link and some text, no images 🙁 (not sure if that makes sense…the FB post goes up after the link is live though)
